"For Ron Hedland"

I am changing the name of this song to "For Ron Hedland" a great musician with whom

I was partnered before his death in 1998. He had a profound effect on me musically and still

does. Some lyrics from the opera "Ophélie" are inside this video, difficult lyrics, that I have

to work through drmatically for the opera. But I have to start with dealing with some of the

difficult poetry in the "Ophélie" lyrics that tie my own bar experience into the drama of the

Ophélie story. I did things, and things happened to me, that I am only processing now, years

later.

"What Would it be like if you beieved in me"

was a turning point song I wrote, making the step to being a composer

of larger instrumentals: symphonies, operas: from 2009 I changed to writing primarily instrumentally: I knew I had deep harmonic talents that had not yet been tapped. This caused me to be able to write the opera Ophélie, later called "The Tears of Ophélie" which is almost finished.
